Tem mas acabou

We foreigners hear this expression, at first they may get confused as it is used without any pause, or commas. In reality, it might be easier to understand if one imagines it as “tem; mas acabou”.
It means: “We have it, but it is sold out/over”. This expression is very common in commerce when you ask for a product but the store does not have it in stock at the moment.
